CCS: My Home Again

Most people get to say that they were once a student, but how often do they get to say “I was a CCSian”?

CCSian, a student from the esteemed Cavite Christian School. Others would be in awe with the knowledge that a person studies or has studied at Cavite Christian School knowing the lengths that CCS goes to just to provide high-quality education to their students. However, what does it mean to be a CCSian?

From what I encountered, I know that CCSians put the Almighty God before anything else and that all glory goes to Him. He is our strength and He provides us the ability to live and thrive. A CCSian is passionate about their work and studies; they are hardworking individuals. A CCSian is someone who strives for excellence in their passion. CCSians may do everything for their passion but they will never stray from the right path because they know what is right from wrong.

A CCSian is someone who strives for excellence in their passion. CCSians may do everything for their passion but they will never stray from the right path because they know what is right from wrong.

Cavite Christian School has been home to me ever since I started junior high school. During the time that I spent away from CCS, I had experienced a different kind of environment than what I was used to. It did widen my perspective and I was able to see more of the world; however, there is just something about Cavite Christian School that calls out to me. Maybe it is because of our situation due to the pandemic that I wanted to feel safe in CCS’s familiarity. Maybe it is because I know that CCS will still provide high-quality education despite the odds of this global pandemic. So, I came back on my last year of senior high school, learned a lot, and CCS became my home again.

As I depart from this school to pursue higher education, I will take my learnings and realizations with me. Along with the pride of being a CCSian, I will take on the name of being a CCSian and show other people what it really means to be a graduate of Cavite Christian School and bring honor to my home.

Why You Should Consider a Christian School

Are you thinking of enrolling your kids in a Christian School? Are you having doubts because you are from a different religion?  You are not alone.

Like most private K to 12 schools, Christian schools are generally regarded as better, in a variety of aspects, than public schools.  This was proven by research studies conducted by various institutions (both public and private) based on students’ performance in colleges and universities.

However, how strict might the environment be in Christian schools? Will the teaching be exclusively from a Christian perspective? What if my children are picked on for being different?

It is understandable that parents are hesitant to enroll their children in Christian schools because of these concerns.

Ready to Worship. CCS junior high school students listen to a special number at one of our monthly chapel services.

To help you make a decision, here are some of the benefits of enrolling your children in a Christian school:

  • A Christian school provides students with opportunities to grow in their faith through prayer and devotion. This can result in stronger relationships with their classmates and a deeper understanding of themselves and God.
  • Christian schools teach wholesome values such as compassion for others, honesty about oneself, and respect for elders — and ultimately these values bring peace to our lives.
  • Christian schools provide opportunities for students to learn to be responsible citizens through service projects within or outside the school. Students may form friendships with people from diverse backgrounds who have the same concerns, such as honoring parents or providing for those less fortunate.
  • A Christian school helps students develop the skills and values necessary to become contributing members of society. Although Christian schools are not inexpensive, they foster the ability for their students to excel academically while developing character qualities such as responsibility, discipline, perseverance, and patience, which will serve them throughout life.
  • A Christian school offers a high-quality academic program while also providing spiritual guidance.
  • Christian schools teach children from a Biblical perspective without compromising or assuming any racial, ethnic, or religious bias. This means every child in a Christian school learns about God’s love for us all, regardless of race or religion!
  • As these schools usually have smaller class sizes (some even go as low as 15 kids per grade! ), your child will receive more one-on-one time with teachers to ensure he or she fully understands the subject matter before moving on.

It is reasonable for parents to feel wary about letting their children go in an environment they do not know. Therefore, it is understandable where their concerns come from. However, it’s time to break the stereotype about Christian schools. All Christian schools know that we come from different backgrounds and environments, but what they value is to light the path for any child regardless of where they come from.
