Interest Clubs for Junior High School
Supreme Student Government
The SSG is a recognized school organization composed of chosen and elected officers form different grade levels. It aims to develop the students’ leadership skills and serves as a training ground in developing social concern for them to become productive young citizens of society.
Scrabble and Word Factory Club
Scrabble and Word Factory are great educational tools masked by fun and competition. With these games, students develop an increased vocabulary, spelling and math skills, as well as critical thinking skills, teamwork, sportsmanship, and interest in reading.
Chess and GG Club
One of the important functions of education is to develop not just the intellectual ability of students but also their interpersonal skills. This club aims to promote logic and critical thinking skills through Chess and Games of the Generals. The students will regularly identify and solve problems, define new vocabulary, assist other players, and teach new rules.
Campus Journalism Club
The Journalism Club gives basic knowledge about print and broadcast journalism which can help students develop an interest in and write about activities in the school and the community. It aims to produce competent and dynamic campus journalists and create a publication, The Christian Gazette, at the end of the school year.
Arts and Crafts Club
Learning about the arts has the capacity to engage, inspire, and enrich students, exciting the imagination and encouraging them to reach their creative and expressive potential. It is organized to enhance the art offering in the classroom and to give more opportunities for children to develop their artistic skills to the fullest.
Glee Club
The Glee Club is organized to give junior high school students the opportunity to join, grow, and develop a group who can sing as a school choir and compete. It gives training in voice, mechanics, techniques and projection, music theory fundamentals, and note reading that will develop students’ competencies in singing.
Science Club
The club is organized to enhance the concern of the students for the environment and learn to protect it in simple but meaningful ways. It also aims to give its members further opportunities to do experiments that are related to the environment and can be applied to their daily lives.
Dance Club
This club aims to arouse interest and enhance its members’ talents in dancing. It strongly believes that dance isn’t just a performing art – it is magical, and dancers are great athletes of God. Through this club, students are provided opportunities for healthful relaxation and recreation, grace and rhythm, coordination of body movements, maintenance of fitness and body posture, and proper body mechanics.
Math Club
The Math Club aims to foster a community of students around a common interest in mathematics. It aims to further develop and improve the knowledge and skills of students who are inclined towards math and explore them. It holds the potential for increasing student opportunity to learn and enrich their mathematical experiences in ways that are free from curriculum and assessment-driven teaching practices.
